November 2006

This is a picture of buddy on his first hunt with me in Delhi, LA. He
picked up 15 ducks with no hesitation. That also happened to be all
the ducks that my group killed that morning. He responded great to
all his hand signals and voice commands. He even ran down a snow goose
for us like he had been doing it all along. Thank you both for an
opportunity to own and hunt with a wonderful dog.

Just wanted to let you know that Lottie and I made it to the 2nd series of the Grand. She did great work in the 1st series, and I kinda made a handler error in the 2nd and didn't take time in lining her up for the 2nd mark -- she split them and I had to handle -- she decided she knew better than I did and I got several cast refusals -- then the "tap on the shoulder from the judge"! What a great experience, though. I learned so much and had a wonderful time.
I was able to run as by-dog in the 3rd series and she spanked that test, then ran as test dog in the 4th and she also did well. So I know she can do the work at that level. Will train harder and try again.
Thanks for allowing me to own such a great dog!!!
Hope you both are doing ok - I think of you often.

Hi Cathy,
I just wanted to let you know that Partner is doing very will here in Maryland. He did a great job for us retrieving and finding those birds this winter. I am sending you this video and a couple of pictures just to show you how well he is doing.
If you need any references for potential customers, feel free to use my name. I am very well satisfied with buying Partner as a starter dog. Now he is trained on hand signals and is very interested in hunting. The dog is everything you said he was going to be and more. I really appreciate your honesty and enjoyed doing business with you.
Thanks again,
Wayne Boothe

Cathy,
Here
is a picture of Jeff and I at the Cajun HRC test this past
weekend. The dogs passed on Saturday and Sunday! I'm
going to run
Diesel again in Started for points and the SHR and hopefully
start
running him in Juniors soon. I'll also be running both
of my dogs up at
NE Louisiana's test first weekend in April. I'll be in
your neck of the
woods, so if you're around and not too busy I'd like
to stop by for a
visit.
Again, thanks for your help with the registration and
I'll be keeping in
touch!
Take Care! Mike

Dear Sam and Cathy,
I am sending you this letter to express my appreciation for
all the time and effort you have put into the training of
our dog, Coal, (which is sometimes spelled T R O U B L E).
If you've ever been stretched to the limits, I'm sure Coal
did it. Coal learned so much in those two months he was with
you. LaVerne and I would of never had the time to give him
what he needed or known how to handle some of the situations
you encountered during his training. With Sam's patience and
your perseverance, Coal accomplished everything we set out
for him to learn.
Coal will return (I'm sure you're smiling at that idea) just
for a refresher from time to time if it is all right with
you. For the meantime, we're working him the best we can and
will try to keep his training reinforced.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Teri Herman

Dear Sam and Cathy,
I am writing to thank you for the job you have done with
my black lab "Hawk". I can't think of anyone better
to train dogs for obedience or hunting.
When I brought Hawk to you, he was gun-shy and had never
held a bird before. In just three short months, you got him
over his gun-shyness, to working on hand signals and on the
way to becoming a great hunting friend. On two consecutive
weekends, he passed four UKC seasoned tests without failing.
This earned Hawk his UKC Hunting Retriever (HR) Certificate.
I highly recommend Sam and Cathy Seay. Not only do they train
your dog, but they encourage you to come out and take part
in the training so that you learn as well. When you watch
them train, you will see how much they love and enjoy training
dogs. I can't say thanks enough.
Sincerely,
Richard P.

Hi Mrs. Cathy:
Just a short note to let you know that the pup that I picked
up from your
kennel earned her HR title this past Sunday (on 4-13-03) just
one day past
her 16 month birthday. She went 4 for 4 on her passes and
probably would
have had her HR title a bit earlier, except she came into
season right
before a couple of tests that we were scheduled to run.
This was a pup out of the Cenac's Hot and Spicy Gumbo x Seay's
Thunder's
Irish Luck breeding born Dec. 11, 2001. She has been a real
joy to train
and has more drive than any dog I've ever seen. Every HRC
judge she has run
under has been very complimentary of her at the conclusion
of each test and
I've had quite a few offers to purchase her which I've obviously
refused.
I've attached a couple of pictures taken by a friend at the
Amite River HRC
test where she earned her first two passes in March.
I hope all is well for you and Mr. Sam.
Sincerely,
Kevin Norman

Thought I'd let you know how my pup is doing. Charlie is
doing very good. Doing better than I thought we would be doing
at this point. I have been fortunate to meet some nice people
in my area who run UKC/AKC hunt tests and the two guys I train
with ran the ESPN Super Retriever Series in Arkansas. One
came in 11'th so I am getting to watch some amazing dogs during
our training and Charlie is getting some great exposure. I
have learned a tremendous amount and look forward to getting
into the fun stages of dog training.
Charlie is very good on his OB. He is doing very well with
heel and we have introduced some distractions lately. He is
very solid on sit/stay, here, etc... He is an indoor dog and
does real good in his kennel and on house training. We have
had him on some live/dead pigeons and frozen duck I had left
over from last season. He does real well in water and has
been exposed to gunfire. I took him to about 5 hunt tests
to get used to the exposure and watch the big dogs run. He
was able to watch some of the marks when he was younger and
watches the big dogs work when we train. I try to expose him
to as much as possible. He does well in the boat. I have been
taking him fishing the past month or so on the weekends.
The training I am training with is going to do formal hold
and FF in a few months. I hope to start running AKC And UKC
hunt tests in the spring, and look forward to having him in
the duck blind this winter.
Again thanks for a wonderful pup. He has great drive and desire
and is very trainable. Hope you and your husband are doing
well.
Brian Graves.

Owner: Dawn Ringstaff
I've also enclosed a picture of her at 5 months old for
you to see. She's still going through some puppy issues
- but we really do love her and she's doing quite well.
She had her first trip out to the lease last weekend and
absolutely loved it. |
